0riginal taste, terroir and sustainable farming

Mary Taylor Wine is a range of wines from mainly France plus Italy, Spain and Portugal where terroir, taste, origin, good value and sustainable farming is the concept.

All from well known to smaller appellations with a heritage, where the experienced wine lover will keep finding new experiences within the range.

-What appealed to me when I first tasted Mary Taylor wines, says Annette Rosencreutz, co-founder of Rosencreutz Wine Co, was the exciting combination of characteristics that attract the contemporary and savvy wine lover – terroir-driven wines with each a distinct taste and personality from sustainable, organic and biodynamic farming. There is true value in each bottle. The streamlined clean classic Burgundy style label holds the range together visually. It’s a trustmark for quality when trying more wines within the range, which today is about 15-20 wine from producers with good capacity to deliver.

The taste throughout the range is predominately clean, dry and unoaked, mirroring the terroir. Most appellations are from France and additionally Italy, Spain and Portugal. The region and the grower is the main message on the label, showing full transparency. Mary Taylor brand was first launched in the USA where it grows fast and now being launched in Europe and throughout the world.

Mary Taylor Wine – Thinking Outside the Grape:   You won’t find the name of any familiar grape variety on the label of a bottle of Mary Taylor Wine. That’s because, after years of working with European wineries, Mary came to understand firsthand why the great wine regions of Europe labeled their wine not according to the grape, but the “place name” or “appellation” where it was made. That reason is “terroir.” Although difficult to translate, it refers to the wine’s unique ability to reflect the identity of its site of origin. Whether known in French as appellation d’origine protégée, in Spanish as denominación de origen, or in Italian as denominazione di origine controllata, the idea is the same: each designated area imparts its own special character, no two expressions alike. Today, it is Mary’s mission to unlock the world of European “appellation” wines by working with individual growers in multiple villages—from Bordeaux and Anjou to Valençay — who produce exceptional regional wines at extremely approachable prices using a heightened sense of sustainable farming.  Mary offers affordable wines of integrity that bring the magic of their terroirs to the market.

For the span of her professional life, she has been active in all aspects of the wine industry, whether selling high-end French and Italian wines at the Sotheby’s wine auction, opening a retail store in lower Manhattan, serving as the president of a tri-state area wholesale company, or working as a portfolio manager for a major distributor covering the entire United States. Needless to say, from the very start she has intrinsically gravitated to the wines of Europe, with their strong emphasis on regionality and “place.” To her, the “Old World” ability to capture the flavor of an entire region and translate it into a complex but well-categorized system of gastronomy represents an enormous cultural gift.

Annette Rosencreutz has spent the past 20 years as an entrepreneur and brand strategist, working with marketing and sales strategies on an international level, from small startups to established businesses in a wide range of industries. Native Swedish she has worked in Scandinavia and from places such as Hamburg, London and California.

Annette has a deep knowledge and experience of wine from the hospitality industry and collectors’ communities, paired with a holistic and sustainable thinking, which led to exploring her experience together with Mary. Annette is working with European and international markets.
